This beautiful little aircraft came to us not looking as nice as this. Some of the lack of maintenance items listed below shown in photos will give you some idea of the problems faced by the Owner and ourselves whether to retire the aircraft from service or take on the task of returning it to a airworthy state.

This photo shows the corrosion under the rear spar steel strap. Another example of dissimilar metal corrosion in the Piper flap hangar area, prior On all Piper repaints the steel fitting attachment areas are closely to removal of paint there was no evidence of this problem and very little post inspected see CASA AD/PA/28/40 Amdt 2. paint removal,remember this aircraft flew with a current Maintenance Release.

At the end of the day we performed a strip and repaint, windows and interior and extensive maintenance work in conjunction with a Periodic Inspection this aircraft returned to service. Our experience shows with continued professional maintenance and corrosion control this aircraft will provide many more years of reliable service which in turn makes the exercise worthwhile.
