Case Study 1

This is just one example of the capacity of work we can carry out. This old Cessna 210 formally known as VH-ABB arrived on the back of a truck no wings attached after resting for 21 years outside, exposed to the elements.

The owner had shopped wisely and eventhough the plane had been out of action for along time it was in a saltless dry environment meaning no corrosion was evident, always a big plus.

Step 1. Wings are attached, all fuel tanks and fuel lines refitted. The floor was manufactured and refitted. Routine Wiing Spar AD was carried out at this stage as it was a perfect time for visibility.

New windows were fitted at this stage as old ones were well past their used by date. Naturally the wings were re-rigged. The Owner opted for the Gear Door Removal Modification Kit to be fitted, this was carried out, he also had extensive radio work done involving new radio stacks etc. All of this was co-ordinated by our experienced staff.

Next step - Paint : The windows taped up VH-ABB goes into the spray booth, the bare metal is acid washed, alodined as a corrosion preventative then primed. During this process all external plastics and inspection panels are removed and painted separately also internally etch primed. All new stainless steel screws will be applied to non-structural panels. The Owner has chosen Matterhorn White, Aristo Blue and Pale Gold, the scheme you are viewing is originally a Cessna 182 scheme however with our head painters 26 years' experience taping and applying this scheme to a Cessna 210 is no big task as we work at all times with the Owner's desires.

Our paint system is second to none. Using a quality polyurethane system which we have been applying for the last 25 years so it is time proven and tested. After our paint job is complete and new interior is fitted along with plastics and seat belts plus head phone jacks in rear. I think you will agree this looks as good as a new one so we changed the rego and I introduce our new Cessna 210 VH-LWH.
